Step 1: First of all make a backup of your current chat history i.e. newest messages. Go to WhatsApp > Menu Button > Settings > Chat Settings > Backup conversations to create the backup.
Step 2: This backup file will be saved with the name of “msgstore.db.crypt7” or “msgstore.db.crypt8” in /sd card/WhatsApp/Databases folder. You need to change the name of the file to “msgstore.db.crypt7.current” or “msgstore.db.crypt8.current” depending upon the original file name. This is done to eliminate any chance of confusion during restoration process.

Step 3: The next step will be to uninstall WhatsApp from your device. Choose one of the older files that you want to restore to get back your chat history older than seven days.
Step 4: Rename that file from “msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt7” to “msgstore.db.crypt7” or from “msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt8” to “msgstore.db.crypt8”.
